Drowing upon historical and ethnographic approaches it brings to life a small place on the tourist map of Gujarat and unravels the mystique around its prized possession - a series of ford Super Delux cars. Culturally, the interaction between objects and people is very interesting phenomenon. People give meaning to object and similarly objects define people.Item Open Access Ahmedabad's Bene Israel(Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology, 2016) Agnihotri, Poosan; Majumdar, MadhumitaThis Communication design project aims to document and present some facts of the Bene Israel community ofAhmedabad that has been living in the city for ever a century. Notwithstanding its long presence in the city, its history, cultureand heritage remains relativly unknown. Although in recent times, historians and members of the community itself have been writing about their lives, acees to and readership of such material remains largely limited. The purpose of thiscomunication design project is to contribute to the exercise of documenting Bene Israel heritage in the city by making a short ethnographic film in Hindi that tells us a story of the Community in thevoice of its own members.
